Spring 2020 Schedule Update

Dear Visions Families,

I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and doing well.

First, I want to touch base on the videos we’ve made for you! I’m hoping your dancers have been watching them, practicing and staying in shape throughout being housebound. We spent 3 nights at the studio filming about 100 videos! So, we really want to know that you’ve been using the resources we’ve provided. Ashlyn, our social media manager, has been doing an amazing job keeping us all connected on Facebook and Instagram. Please check it out…lots of fun posts, information on dance resources for your dancer, and also some fun challenges for you. We’ve enjoyed seeing the posts so far, but would love to see more! Everyone, please join in the fun and check out what’s happening on our social media accounts.

Also, I wanted to share with you what the rest of our season could look like….provided the quarantine doesn’t last much longer. I was able to talk with the school about pushing the recital date out. My plan at this time is to simply push our entire program out with a recital mid to late June. However, this is obviously subject to change being we just don’t know. I would be willing to hold a recital even later if necessary in order to be able to use the costumes you paid for and to perform the dances your students have worked so hard on.

Our program is set up on auto-invoice so April invoices will get emailed out soon. I’m of course not expecting anyone to pay for services that we likely won’t be able to provide in April, but if some of you who are able to or don’t mind paying ahead that’s greatly appreciated. Anyone who waits will just need to pay when we start classes back up. I’m still going to be paying my staff, have rent and bills that have to be paid so I’m hoping those who can pay now will….knowing that I will be fulfilling the rest of the dance year when this craziness is over. No judgment or expectation if you don’t pay! I do ask if you have any outstanding tuition or costume balances that you please try and pay those. We will be re-emailing them as a reminder.

If you are set up on our auto-pay program and wish to pause payment, please send an email to [email protected] by March 29th to let us know.

I know I speak for the entire staff when I say, we have been praying for you all. If there’s anything we can do for you and your family, please reach out. For now, stay home, stay safe, and enjoy your beautiful family!

Hugs,

Kim

MESSAGE FROM 3/14/2020:

Dear Parents,

Along with Michigan’s K-12 schools, Visions in Motion will be closed until April 5th due to concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Our #1 priority is the health and safety of our students, families, teachers, and staff. This was not an easy decision but ultimately what I feel is best. Thankfully, one of these weeks is our Spring break so really we are only missing 2 weeks of dance.

While it is hard to plan for the unknown, we are keeping our calendar of events as-is until further notice. The only exception will be picture week, which is being rescheduled for the week following the recital. This will give the teachers an extra week of class time to prepare for the recital. We will also plan for makeup classes sometime in May.

I know this virus situation is changing not only day by day but hour by hour. I will keep you posted and update you with any new and changing news as it becomes available. I have a staff meeting scheduled for tomorrow (3/15) in order to discuss how these next few months could look for us. We will also discuss the possibility of posting online videos for your dancers.

Thank you all for your understanding and for helping us to make the health and safety of your family and loved ones a priority. I know I speak for the entire staff in saying, we are very sad not being able to dance and will miss you all these next few weeks.

I am reminded of Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Remember, God’s got this!!
